Sheryl...make music...not waves

Sheryl Crow needs to make music...not waves. Her concern for the enviroment while admirable is typically wrongheaded. Hey Sheryl...the inconvienent facts don't add up. The "science" that promotes Al Gore's vision of global warming just doesn't stack up against the evidence.

Not a few of the scientists listed on the United Nations report on Global Warming have been vocal about having their names removed from what amounts to a propoganda piece worth of Joseph Goebbels. For those who are historically challenged, which is most of the libs out there, Joe G, was the Nazi propoganda minister who accurately stated that a big lie was easier to swallow than a small one.

The lie about global warming is so obvious that to anyone with half a brain, that leaves out the libs, should be able to see through it. The GW advocates are basing their doom and gloom on faulty computer models. As you know garbage in...garbage out. The weather people can't accurately predict weather 10 days in advance with any degree of certainty. That makes me wonder just how accurate their predictions of doom really are.

One other thing that really bugs me is the idea that buying "carbon offsets" does any good. To me it means you continue to live a lifestyle in total opposition to what you preach. Right Al? Instead of making your little mansion eco-friendly...let's buy some carbon offsets.

For those libs who decry George W. Bush as being so terrible and irresponsible about the enviroment, I suggest you look at the house in Crawford...Not only is it eco-friendly it's a stunning example of living with the enviroment. Al Gore could take a lesson.

Wrong again Harry

Harry Reid has once again demonstrated that the Democrats are betting the farm on defeat. Not that it comes as a surprise, after all defeatism is their stock in trade. Their long history of wanting to lose can be traced all the way back to the American Revolution. They weren't called democrats then but the party line hasn't changed much since.

They were called "Loyalists" who decried the popular will of the majority wanting freedom from the Mother Country. Along with aiding and abetting the Red Coats, their policy then as now was inflammatory to say the least. It seems they were proven wrong in the light of history. The birth of the United States succeded against all odds and came to the rescue of the Mother Country more than once.

During the American Civil War, or the War of Northern Aggression if you like, the Democrats once again were willing to buy into defeat and allow the south to go their own way. During Lincoln's second term it was the Little Napoleon McClellan who was their front man for cut and run. Lest we forget the truly horrific casualties incurred during the Civil War you might want to compare them with the casualty lists from Iraq.

When World War One broke out, Woodrow "Woodhead" Wilson promised to keep America out of the war. Not surprising as he was a dedicated pacifist and an academic to boot. When the pressure got too much and he finally asked for a declaration of war he admitted being clueless as to why the soldiers he was sending off to die were so enthusiastic. Not surprising is it?

When Woodhead went to Paris with his 14 points, the Europeans wanted nothing to do with them. The Europeans are every bit as tribal as the Sunni ans Shia in Iraq. And the forerunner of the useless United Nations, the League of Nations proved to be as toothless and ineffective as that blight on New York soil the current UN.

I guess Harry doesn't read much history or if he does he draws the same conclusions as the other dimwits in his party. Franklin Roosevelt wanted desperately to get into the act and stop Nazi aggression in Europe a worthy cause indeed. It was his fellow democrat the secretary of state Cordell Hull who in a series of blunders that presages the same errors currently shared by his democratic fellows stated "Gentlemen do not read each others mail."

Hull was talking about the American Black Chamber who cracked several diplomatic codes allowing us some insight into what our earstwhile allies were thinking and more importantly reporting to their heads of state. Shades of the NSA scrap! Hull was largely responsible for the arrogant and short sighted diplomatic contretemps that led to Pearl Harbor.

I guess Harry has never heard of the Marshall Doctrine either. It was that little rebuilding effort that set Europe back on their feet after the second world war. Hey Harry last time I looked we're still in Germany! Oh and Harry we're still in Korea too, courtesy of another Democrat president who at least had the vision to recognize the threat posed by the peace loving Soviet Union.

Which brings us to the Dem's favorite conflict of all time, the one they were instrumental in helping to lose. Vietnam. I was there Harry, where were you? The problem with micromanagment Harry is that if your not clued in to what's going on at the sharp end of the stick your essentially clueless. Oh yeah there's one other minor thing Harry. You have go into it TO WIN!

I've taken the long way round to get here so bear with me. We're still in Europe and Korea and we've spent untold billions in both sides of the world due largely to tribalism. Hey Harry the whole world is tribal. We carried the burden of the defense of Europe for half a century Harry and know what? Most of them are grateful that the Soviets didn't come crashing through the Fulda Gap. You wouldn't know anything about that right Harry? Too busy making land deals.

The point is Harry. If we win the war in Iraq, and militarily we have, and lose the peace, it's not likely that the Islamo nut cases are going to bomb podunk Nevada so your probably safe. But it's going to be your and your ilk who have to explain to the grieving familes of the next attack on American soil that is was the lack of will to win the peace that prompted it.

In the wake of sorrow

Everyone with a sense of moral outrage is mourning along with the families and students of Virginia Tech. Predictably the left is screaming for tighter gun control laws. You could also extrapolate it and say they wish to ban all guns. From all I've read on the subject, the shooter bought the guns legally, the crack that he fell through was in the lack of communication between agencies. I don't believe mentally unstable people should own guns, especially in the wake of this horrific crime. The warning signs were all there but the privacy of the individual the left so ardently supports got in the way of sharing the information that would have banned this troubled individual from ever LEGALLY purchashing a gun. Anyone with a grain of sense knows that in spite of all the laws guns can be purchased without going through the process that those of us who bought ours legally have to endure.
Not to make light of the problem in any way my question is, would the left have reacted the way they did if the individual had made a homemade chlorine gas bomb? Would bleach and ammonia both be on the list of things that they would want to regulate? One of the excuses i've seen listed was that there wasn't the money to ensure that the information that would have banned this person from legally purchasing a gun was distributed. Come again? There wasn't money available? Surely this was an oversight that will be corrected as soon as the mourning period is over.
When I saw the horror I did two things, first my prayers went out to the families of those who had to endure this senseless tragedy, the second was to cancel my cable subscription. Why? The endless play and the pontificating of those "experts" was frankly too much to endure. I can get my daily fix of bad news on the net as easily and I can CHOOSE what to watch.
Banning guns will not keep weapons out of the hands of people who wish to do others harm, it will instead create the same kind of illegal supply and demand as those who wish to do drugs. If the demand is there someone will supply it. The idiot mayor of New York City in his rant against Virginia gun dealers shows his ignorance and left wing bias. Those gun dealers didn't go to NEW YORK to peddle their wares and it seems NEW YORK has enough problems without going cross state to find more.
Once again the left and the drive by media has shown their lack of concern and alternative universe mindset where if you just talk to people everyone will be better for it. Like the 19 hijackers that left a gaping hole in the New York skyline right? There are some people whose intentions are clearly stated and unwavering, yet the left believes that dialog will overcome someone's illness or a desire to become a martyr for the cause. Wake up people.
